Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.00 GENERAL These specifications cover the electrical and mechanical features of a single phase, 60 Hertz, liquid-filled, self-cooled, dead-front, pad-mounted transformer. The unit shall conform to all applicable provisions of the latest version of ANSI C57.12.00, C57.12.25, C57.12.34, C57.12.70, C57.12.90, C57.91, C58.91, and C386 as well as all other applicable ANSI and NEMA standards unless excepted by provisions of these specifications. All transformers shall meet Department of Energy, Energy Conservation Standards for Distribution Transformers which went into effect on January 1, 2016. 2.00 VOLTAGES The transformer shall provide rated low-voltage output at rated high-voltage input. The transformer high-voltage winding shall be 12,000-volt connected phase-tophase. The transformer low-voltage winding shall be 240/120 volts with the neutral brought out on an insulated bushing. 3.00 TEMPERATURE The winding temperature rise above ambient temperature, when tested at the rated kVA, shall not exceed 65°C. The hottest spot winding temperature rise above ambient temperature, when tested at the rated kVA, shall not exceed 80°C. The winding temperature rise above ambient temperature, when tested at the rated kVA, shall not exceed 65° C. The ambient temperature max shall not exceed 40° C and the average ambient temperature 24 hour shall not exceed 30° C. The hottest spot winding temperature rise above ambient temperature, when tested at the rated kVA, shall not exceed 80° C. 4.00 IMPEDANCE The minimum impedance of single-phase 240/120V-volt transformers rated up to 167 kVA shall be: Rated kVA 25-75 100 167 Min. Nominal Impedance 1.50 1.95 3.25 In all cases, maximum impedance shall not exceed 125% of the minimum nominal impedance allowed. 5.00 TERMINALS There shall be six (6) high-voltage terminals for loop feed and consist of universal bushing wells with 8.3/14.4kV load break bushing inserts which comply with ANSI Standard 386 for separable high-voltage insulated 200-amp connectors. Two high voltage terminals are for direct feed through (see DS429). Single piece bushings will not be accepted. Insulation will be for 15kV class with 95kV BIL. Highvoltage bushings shall be arranged per City of Redding Drawing CS319 which is attached. The low-voltage bushing terminals shall be in accordance with CS319/DS429; 4- hole pads. Terminals including neutral terminal shall be insulated for the specified low voltage and for 30kV BIL. Bushings shall be marked by stenciled lettering on tank. Bushing wells and secondary terminals shall be externally clamped and replaceable without entering the transformer tank.
