A. The Contractor shall remove existing damaged sections of the sanitary sewer and stormwater conveyance system, dispose of it offsite and repair the conveyance system. B. The Contractor’s replacement will include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. The Contractor shall perform and complete all work to conform to approved Exhibit A-1, Drawings and Exhibit A-2, Specifications. 2. Grading will be required in disturbed soil areas and areas around buildings to reestablish stormwater flows to drain inlets and swales. Bare dirt/soil disturbed areas will be topped with a growth inhibiting, soil stabilizing material. Repairs to the stormwater conveyance system shall occur only in periods without precipitation. The sanitary sewer system is to always remain operational except for the transition time to activate a bypass and reconnect post repair/replacement. 3. Hazardous Materials Address Hazardous-building materials in accordance with report titled Exhibit A-3, SCA ENVIRONMENTAL INC. MCSP SANITARY SEWER AND STORMWATER SYSTEM REPAIR PROJECT SURVEY dated December 2023, as well as state and local jurisdiction requirements and regulations. 4. Work to be performed shall consist of, but not limited to: a. Inspect the existing sub-grade, remove all vegetation, ensure area to be repaired is free of any sharp objects or debris (sticks, stones, roots); b. Perform all structural upgrades to existing building per Exhibit A-1, Drawings and Exhibit A-2, Specifications. c. Provide a firm uniform base for liner; d. Compact sub-grade per Exhibit A-2, Specifications; e. Dewater all trenches per design / specification as required; f. Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control certifications prior, and manufacturer’s warranty during and at the completion of the project; g. Provide manufacturer’s training certification for each installer; h. Provide As-Built drawings with a note for each roll number of liner material installed which includes location of installation; C. The Contractor shall be responsible for worker safety. Injury and Illness Prevention Plans must include infection control training of workers, provision of personal protective equipment, and any necessary hygiene stations for their workers with respect to compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations, and orders for infection control. The Contractor shall be required to comply with infection control requirements of the CDCR Institution where the work is being performed. D. The Contractor shall sign in/out daily with Plant Operations staff for accountability. E. The Contractor shall have a weekly/daily schedule available. F. MCSP, Correctional Plant Manager II, or designated project liaison will provide assistance to coordinate with the Contractor and the facility.
