Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. General a. Attend meetings with the Design Teams and City agencies, when necessary or as requested. b. Participate in pricing and VE exercises which will occur at each Project phase to ensure design meets each Project’s budget goals. c. Structural Engineer will assist MEP Engineer in providing seismic calculations for seismic anchorage of MEP equipment as required by the applicable California building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes, respectively 2. Schematic Designs: Schematic Designs should focus on finalizing designs with the Project architects that will be approved by SF Planning. Structural Engineer must establish viable structural design system, including vertical load continuity and lateral load systems. a. Deliverables include: i. Development of a Structural Basis of Design narrative that summarizes the wall type assemblies, wall thickness, floor/ceiling assemblies, types of lumber and deflection criteria. ii. Cost savings analysis of constraints and opportunities, identification of alternate viable systems, materials, or configurations corresponding to massing studies, site conditions, and new systems and materials.
