Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Project shall renovate approximately 5,274 gsf in the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center (SMUMC) to provide expanded space for the Department of Pharmacy in compliance with the current regulatory standards. The renovated space consists of Suite 2260 on the Second Floor of the North Wing and Rooms B480-490 in the Basement of the Merle Norman Pavilion. The Project shall convert a vacant orthopedic research laboratory on the Second Floor into a suite designed to accommodate the department's dispensing, sterile compounding, and administrative functions. The renovated space shall include hazardous and non-hazardous intravenous (IV) sterile compounding rooms, ante room, and IV workstation area; a picking and dispensing area; storage rooms for narcotics, hazardous drugs, fast moving stock, and general items; pharmacist workstations; administrative offices; a print/copy alcove; and staff toilets. A dedicated air handling unit and exhaust system will be provided to serve the renovated suite. A portion of the Basement space currently occupied by the department shall be renovated into an open storage area with flexible shelving, a receiving area, pharmacist workstations, and administrative office. The scope of Work shall include removal of improvements in the way of the proposed work; relocation of walls; provision of casework, shelving, medical equipment, and flammable storage cabinets; re-routing of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to accommodate the program; provision of stainless steel exhaust ducts connected to new equipment hoods within the sterile compounding rooms; provision of communications conduit; provision of public address and security systems; and finishes.
