Specifications include, but are not limited to: The courier should be flexible in adjusting schedules to meet the operational needs of UC Davis Health locations including but not limited to their Pathology, Laboratory, Outreach Clients and routes may need to be adjusted per mutual consent of both the vendor and UC Davis Health.; Courier will not perform other client pickups if they interfere with UC scheduled routes or STAT services. Further clarification and requirements will be specified in Statement of Work during contracting.; The awarded vendor must have an online portal for courier requests that includes ordering services and monitoring routes both live and retroactively.; The vendor will have a toll-free phone number and a point of contact person(s) that is available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Vendor must have electronic tracking of all pickups and delivery with electronic signature capturing of each pickup/delivery.; The courier shall be accessible by phone at all times when on duty and have a clear escalation pathway for handing any issues or emergencies.; The courier must have barcode scanning and the electronic tracking must be web-based. UC Davis Health must have access to the web portal for tracking of pickups/delivery. Vendor must be able to provide service reports on a monthly basis. Scanning of packing manifest & specimens to identify pick-up and drop-off inventory is highly desirable.; The selected vendor shall provide services including on-demand calls, seven days a week and 24 hours a day if needed, including holidays.; The vendor must be able to make STAT deliveries. A STAT delivery defined as a call for service and the specimen, item and/goods must be delivered within 1 hour for medical center campus and 2 hours for locations within the UCDH network of clinics. Under no circumstances shall other routes be serviced.; Routine pickups not incorporated on an established route must be picked up within 15 minutes of scheduled pickup time and delivered at the established delivery time to the respective site.; Courier must supply maps of routes used for all UC Davis Health pickups and delivery sites i.e. Google Maps or equivalent of each route.; Courier must provide routine pickup service of UC Davis Health Laboratory Outreach clients that are on their routine route throughout California.; Courier is to pick up specimen at designated times, (listed under Attachment A below) and deliver accordingly. In addition to laboratory specimens, delivery of reports, supplies, X-rays and medical records may be required.; Couriers are to carry approved specimen transport containers into the pickup locations to ensure integrity of specimens. Specimen Transport containers that maintain appropriate transport temperatures (refrigerated, room temperature, warm, frozen) must be provided by vendor and approved by UC Davis Health. Dry ice and dry ice specimen transport containers are to be provided by the courier as well. It is highly preferred that vendor can provide real time specimen temperature tracking on courier totes and coolers.; Each courier vehicle used for the pickup and delivery of samples must carry the appropriate spill kit in the event of an accident or if a container breaks or leaks.; Specimens must be transported in containers that are temperature-specific based on UC requirements. Specimen containers in vehicles must be clearly marked on the outside.; UC sites should be able to log into a system that allows real-time tracking of specimen temperature and location.; 24-Hour urine containers should be placed into a secondary container during transport to prevent the container(s) from being tossed around/causing specimen to spill during transport.
