Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County of Nevada is soliciting sealed Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from qualified providers for on-call engineering and support services to support the Nevada County solid waste facilities. Nevada County maintains two closed landfill sites; the McCourtney Road Landfill (MRL) in Western Nevada County, and the Hirschdale Landfill near Truckee. The County is responsible for all post closure activities. The County is interested in retaining a Contractor to provide on-call engineering support services for these closed landfill sites. The County currently has one full time landfill maintenance technician who works closely with the engineering support consultant and performs many of the routine onsite monitoring activities with support from the consultant; including: landfill gas system monitoring and balancing, SWPPP inspections, Landfill cap inspections, leachate collections system operation and maintenance, water table monitoring, equipment and facility maintenance, etc. The landfill technician provides accurate and completed field worksheets for review and reporting. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating with the landfill technician to oversee monitoring and testing activities and provide technical support as necessary. In the event that the landfill technician is unable to perform required monitoring activities for an extended period of time, the consultant may be asked to assume critical tasks necessary to keep the facility in compliance with applicable monitoring and reporting requirements.
