Specifications include, but are not limited to: In furtherance of recently issued Executive Order N-12-23, the State is considering procurement and enterprise use opportunities where Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) can improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accessibility, and equity of government operations. The California Department of General Services (DGS), in partnership with the California Department of Technology (CDT), intends to issue five (5) Request for Innovative Ideas (RFI2) to solicit GenAI solutions to address state agency problem statements. GenAI solutions will be tested as a proof of concept at a nominal payment in a sandbox environment managed by CDT. CDT will make access to the sandbox environment available to the Solution Provider(s) for approximately 6 months to assist the State in evaluating proposed GenAI tools and services, to further the State's goals of safe, ethical, and responsible implementations, and to inform decisions on the use of GenAI, consistent with State guidelines. The GenAI RFI2 opportunities are anticipated to be released in a phased approach on the California State Contracts Register (CSCR) starting January 4, 2024.
