2.1 Summary Statement 2.1.1 This Invitation for Bids (IFB) is issued to procure the goods or services, as specified in this Section 2, from a contract between the successful Bidder and the State of Maryland (“State”) for the removal and disposal of existing carpet, removal and disposal of existing cove base. The installation of carpet tiles and the installation of new vinyl cove base. 2.1.2 It is the State’s intention to obtain goods and services, as specified in this IFB, from a contract between the selected Bidder and the State. 2.1.3 This is a single award IFB. See IFB Section 4.21 Bid Evaluation Criteria and Award Basis for more Contract award information. 2.1.4 Contract award does not ensure a Contractor will receive all or any State business under the Contract. 2.2 Background and Purpose 2.2.1 The State seeks to procure a contractor to renovate the flooring at the Silver Spring location of the Division of Parole and Probation. 2.3 Contractor Responsibilities and Tasks 2.3.1 The Contractor’s work is to be completed after business hours, between 5:00pm - 4:00am Monday through Friday and day and night work between Friday at 5pm – 4am Monday. 2.3.2 The Contractor shall move and reset furniture as needed. 2.3.3 The Contractor shall provide all supplies, tools and equipment necessary for performance and completion of the scope of work. No materials will be furnished by the DPSCS-DPP. 2.3.4 All materials and equipment incorporated into the work shall be new and for the purpose intended, unless otherwise specified, and all workmanship shall be of good quality and performed in a skillful manner and approved by the Contract Monitor. 2.3.5 Access to the facility, demised premises and the facility’s 8 yd. dumpster will be coordinated and provided by the state facility manager. 2.3.6 The Contractor shall demolish all 9,216 sq. ft. (approximately) of existing carpet in the facility and install new carpet tiles in the amount of 9,216 sq. ft. to replace the removed carpet. 2.3.7 The Contractor will be in charge of transportation of materials and labor force to and from the working spaces, cleaning areas in premises where work was performed, removal of all debris and garbage from premises
