Specifications include, but are not limited to: SPECIFICATIONS A. PASSES The magnetic striped pass shall be standard credit card size of two and one-eighth inches (2-1/8”) by three and three-eighths inches (3-3/8”). The magnetic stripe shall have a nominal width of three-eighths inch (3/8”) wide, located one-quarter inch (1/4”) from and parallel to one long edge side. Manufacturer specification shall meet “GFI Genfare Technical Specifications for use in GFI Fare Collection/Vending Equipment-Magnetic Tickets -Technical Specs., January 31, 1991”. Vendor shall obtain magnetic encoding information from samples to be provided by OCTA or directly from GFI Genfare Inc. and vendor shall encode all magnetic stripe passes according to GFI and Authority specifications at no additional charge. Suppliers guarantees that encoded passes will work with the OCTA farebox system. All magnetic media shall use high coercivity magnetics and not less than two thousand (2,000) orestads. B. ENCODED PASSES 1. Rolling Period Passes The passes will be 10 mil direct thermal polyester (plastic) stock with the magnetic slurry stripe applied to the card. Card graphics shall not be limited to two (2) color graphics as required by Authority artwork on the face side facing the passenger upon insertion in the farebox. The reverse side of the card shall be printed in a single color on the natural white background. Final graphics shall be subject to Authority approval prior to manufacture of cards. A photographic image may also be used for some passes instead of regular artwork. 2. Prepaid Day Passes (Encoded as one day period passes) The passes will be 10 mil direct thermal polyester (plastic) stock with the magnetic slurry stripe applied to the card. Card graphics shall be not be limited to two (2) color graphics as required by Authority artwork on the face, side facing the passenger upon insertion in the farebox. The reverse side of the card shall be printed in a single color on the natural white background. Final graphics shall be subject to Authority approval prior to manufacture of cards. A photographic image may also be used for some passes instead of regular artwork. 3. Stored Value Passes The passes shall be 10 mil direct thermal polyester (plastic) stock with the magnetic slurry stripe applied to the card. Card graphics shall not be limited to two (2) color graphics as required by Authority artwork on the face, side facing the passenger upon insertion in the farebox. The reverse side of the card shall be printed in a single color on the natural white background. Final graphics shall be subject to Authority approval prior to manufacture of cards. A photographic image may also be used for some passes instead of regular artwork. C. UNENCODED PASSES Unencoded Day Passes (Encoding to be issued from the GFI farebox on bus) The passes will be thermal coated paper cards made from paper-based stock ten (10) mil inch thickness with the magnetic slurry stripe applied to the card. Card graphics shall be two (2), color graphics on the front side, which will be the side facing the passenger upon insertion in the farebox. The reverse side of the card shall be printed in a single color on the natural white background. Final graphics shall be subject to Authority approval prior to manufacture of cards. A photographic image may also be used for some passes instead of regular artwork. D. ADDITIONAL MATERIAL TYPES The Authority may request the use of other material type for pass production.
