Specifications include, but are not limited to: The San Diego County Probation Department is working to offer evidence-informed and rehabilitative programing to youth in long-term custody. Successful and effective programming helps youth acquire the skills needed to become successful in their lives and productive adults. The services to be provided in this program are based on a positive youth development model and support youth’s pro-social development by including their voices in programing decisions and working collaboratively to meet their needs. Contractor shall work closely with County of San Diego (County) Behavioral Health Services (BHS) and Probation Staff to assist custodial youth transition from custody and into the community. This occurs when youth learn life skills, financial literacy, job readiness skills, and experience leadership development opportunities. Contractor shall be able to link and support completion of youth to paid internships, apprenticeships, and enrollment in continuation education or higher education, upon release. These services will support the juvenile justice system’s goal of supporting youth become successful and quickly and successfully helping youth complete their probation and avoid future criminal justice involvement.
