This request for proposal (RFP) seeks professional design services for the Groveland Community Connectivity Project. The project will enhance the accessibility, order, and cultural connection of State Route 120 and Ferretti Road corridors, which are the main thoroughfares for all transportation traveling through the historic downtown Groveland. Improvements will include identifying and repairing/replacing approximately 1,600 feet of damaged sections of sidewalk and sidewalk connections. The rehabilitation/replacement of sidewalks and curb ramps will address existing informal paths, crumbling sidewalks, and ADA compliance. To further transform the bicycle and pedestrian environment, 2 new crosswalks are to be designed at key crossing locations along Main Street and Ferretti Road. The project outputs shall also include the construction of 3,520 feet of multi-use Class I pathway and traffic calming measures throughout the corridor. Even with inadequate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure along this heavy traffic and high-speed corridor, many residents and visitors still walk to and from destinations along Main Street and Ferretti Road. This project will provide a much-needed facelift to the heart of the community, making walking and bicycling safer, more comfortable, and enjoyable for Groveland residents, employees, and visitors. The consultant should be creative and innovative in their approach to rehabilitating/replacing the existing sidewalk and transforming inadequate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. This will improve cohesion and benefit the community while meeting the goals of the Active Transportation Program. The design should be sensitive to the current aesthetics of the historic corridor and consider impacts on national register and national register-eligible properties. It should also address deficiencies in public health, beautification, pedestrian access, and accessibility in Groveland. The scope of work should include the following: • Project management, including PDT meetings and agency coordination. This project includes Caltrans encroachment. • Stakeholder engagement • Preliminary Engineering Design (PA&ED) • Utility coordination • Final Design (PS&E) • Bidding assistance (Optional task) • Construction Support (Optional task)
