The objective of Phase 1 is to conduct an iterative process to select innovative and sustainable idea(s) to address the State’s challenge identified in the Problem Statement and can be validated as working solution(s) during Phase 2. 1. RFI2 is advertised on the California State Contracts Register (CSCR). 2. State engages Innovators through the RFI2 Conference and questions and answers (Q&A’s) process. 3. Innovators submit Innovation Concept Paper(s). 4. State evaluates the Innovation Concept Papers. If necessary, State conducts confidential discussions with Innovators. 5. The State will select the Innovator(s) who will advance to the next phase and will provide those Innovator(s) with Phase 2 requirements (e.g., a Statement of Work and evaluation criteria). 6. State and the selected Innovator(s) will negotiate a contract to perform the Phase 2, Part A proof of concept/demonstration. 7. Proof of Concept Contract(s) are awarded to Innovator(s) to perform in Phase 2 proof of concept/demonstration. The Innovator(s) who advance to Phase 2 and are awarded a contract will be deemed “Solution Provider(s)”.
