The County of San Luis Obispo (County) is currently soliciting proposals for professional hydrogeology and hydrology consulting services to support the Groundwater Sustainability Department’s role in implementing the goals and policies of the County to achieve sustainability within the managed groundwater basins in accordance with the requirements of applicable laws and regulations, including the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), for the benefit of all groundwater users in the County. The GSD serves as the primary point of contact, providing management, technical, and administrative support, for the County for two (2) Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs), including the Paso Robles Basin GSA and the San Luis Obispo Valley GSA and as a partner on other management committees in the six (6) managed groundwater basins within the county. While the approaches in each basin may differ, each basin and its management entity must conduct their efforts in the following three key areas: (1) governance, administration, and coordination; (2) monitoring, data gathering, studies and investigations, and reporting; and (3) implementation of programs, management actions, and projects to achieve and maintain sustainable conditions in the basin.
