The work consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals required to complete the improvements shown on the Specifications and Contract Documents. The work performed under this contract is summarized in the Notice Inviting Sealed Bids and includes, but is not limited to each bid item listed in the Contractor’s Bid Proposal, as covered in the Standard Specifications, and as described in the corresponding items on the following pages. The work in general, to be performed pursuant to these specifications, consists of furnishing and installation of six 14-ft by 14-ft overhead bay garage doors and removal and disposal of the existing six bay garage doors. Product specifications for the garage doors and motor have been provided in Appendix II of this document. The bid price shall include providing and installing all necessary hardware, tracks, motor operators, and electrical controls and any other equipment necessary for the new garage doors. Specifically, torsion springs rated for 50,000 cycles shall be included as art of the bid price, and a motor capable of raising the garage doors at 24 inches per second (Liftmaster HPH1MC motor or approved equal) shall be required. The work also involves tinting and painting the garage doors with the correct paint number as specified by the fire department, in accordance with the Plans and Specifications entitled Fire Station Garage Door Replacement Project No. 005178. The new doors will match the existing fire station garage doors aesthetically, which shall include one row of tempered clear glass. The new doors must meet all building codes and fire safety regulations. The contractor will be responsible for disposal of the existing garage doors and coordinating transition to the new garage door system in a manner that will not disrupt fire department staff operations or sacrifice the security of the fire station facility. Additionally, as the work requires close coordination with the fire department to minimize disruption to their operations during the installation process. Upon completion of the garage door installation, the new garage doors must be fully functional and integrate seamlessly with the existing fire station infrastructure. Additionally, all interior drywall and other affected surfaces shall be reinstalled properly and blend seamlessly with the surrounding surfaces. The project manager will conduct a final inspection to ensure all restoration meets the required standards before approving final completion of the project.
