SCM Repair Services may include work on various NCDOT SCMs such as dry/wet detention basins, bioretention areas, bio-filtration conveyances, level spreaders, grass swales, bioswales, infiltration swales/basins, stormwater wetlands, permeable pavement, and hazardous spill basins. SCM Repair Services may include both routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs of SCMs. Work may include, but is not limited to, dewatering SCMs prior to performing repairs; removal of undesirable vegetation/woody debris from SCMs; unclogging SCM pipes by cleaning out debris/overgrowth; replanting basins; removal of accumulated sediment and/or sediment laden riprap, litter, or other debris from forebays/basins; repairing washouts; and restabilizing areas after maintenance and repairs are completed. SCMs Repair Services may also include repairing and/or replacing SCM components that are structurally damaged, eroded, clogged, worn, or otherwise non-functional. Components include, but are not limited to, underdrain systems, filter media, riprap or earthen berms/forebays; inlet/outlet pipes/structures; sluice gates, and trash racks. Other work that may be performed along with repairs include routine vegetation maintenance such as pruning, trimming, plant installation/removal, herbicide application, litter removal, mechanical mowing in and around SCMs, tillage, mulching, seeding/sodding, stabilizing eroded areas, and installing and use of temporary erosion and sediment control measures as required by the Engineer and in accordance with NCDOT standards and specifications.
