Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Santa Cruz (City) Department of Public Works is soliciting proposals from qualified consultants to provide engineering services for an electrical upgrade project at the Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF). The project currently has three distinct parts; phase 1 will be a new point of connection for the facility to the PG&E infrastructure on Bay Street along with a new switchgear and associated cabling, phase 2 involves replacing standby generators and associated switchgear, phase 3 is a conversion of existing 2400 V equipment to 480 V. The city is seeking construction level plans, specification and cost estimate (PS&E) for all proposed upgrades. The consultant will also need to provide technical expertise to evaluate design alternatives. Preliminary analysis and recommendations have been provided by Kennedy Jenks in the attached document entitled “Final Technical Memorandum” dated March 18, 2020. The first task of the project will be to do a thorough review of all the items discussed in the document and provide independent assessment of the recommendations.
