Specifications include, but are not limited to: One (1) Behavioral Respite Agency for youth, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities currently residing in the community. RCEB has an identified need for a respite agency to provide behavioral respite to clients with intensive behavioral support needs residing in the community. Respite is defined as an intermittent break for a care provider, from the constant care and supervision the client requires. Respite workers must be trained and have experience in addressing the behavioral and supervision needs of the client. Examples of the behavioral issues that might be encountered are physical aggression towards self and others, property destruction, elopement, pica, and self -injurious behavior. Multiple maladaptive behaviors could occur frequently and will range from mild to be severe in intensity.
