Specifications include, but are not limited to: Our communication platforms and messaging need to convey a wide range of information about Watts Rising including: • Who we are as a collaborative • That our work is not new, but rather builds upon decades of community leadership, academic research, community surveys and planning documents about Watts • That the strategies and projects that are a part of Watts Rising were defined and prioritized by Watts residents; • Detailed information about the 24 infrastructure projects we were funded to implement which include: o 25+ blocks of streetscape, pedestrian and bicycle improvements including over five miles of new bike lanes and a one-mile cultural trail o Building 216 new affordable rental units o Electrification of the Watts DASH bus route o An electric car sharing program and vanpool o 50 new solar roofs installed on qualifying single family homes o Installing energy efficiency retrofits in 289 single family o A community garden at Markham Middle School with clean tech features, community workshops, and produce distribution
