Specifications include, but are not limited to: The principal intent of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009 (Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program) is to provide services to persons infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV),including those whose illness has progressed to the point of clinically defined Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The Public Health Department will monitor funded providers to ensure that all funded providers verify and document client eligibility. The Santa ClaraCounty funding allocations are overseen, in accordance with Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program legislation, by a community-based HIV Commission comprised of HIV/AIDS providers, Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program clients, and other stakeholders. Using local and State data sources,community input, and provider reports, the HIV Commission prioritizes the federally approved service categories and determines funding levels based on unmet need and demand for services.
