Specifications include, but are not limited to: The proposed Canyon Country Community Center project consists of developing a new 24,759 square-foot community center and outdoor recreational facilities on a 9.5-acre project site in the Canyon Country community of Santa Clarita. Proposed outdoor improvements include open play areas, an outdoor market/mercado, an event stage area, a basketball half-court, an events area, shade structures, outdoor restroom building, perimeter trail, gateway plaza with a sizeable art component located adjacent to the northeast corner intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway, and all associated improvements. The City will contract separately for the purchase and installation of playground equipment, shade structure and play surfacing. Phase II General Contractor shall coordinate in accordance to Specification Section 00 72 00 (General Conditions). Proposed indoor spaces within the community center include a multipurpose room, a gymnasium, classrooms, a catering and teaching kitchen, a fitness room, staff offices, a reception lobby, and supporting uses such as restrooms and storage areas. Additional construction activities will include, but are not limited to, the extension of all utilities from the completed Phase III (offsite improvements) points of connection to the required onsite points of connection, installation of Edison structures, onsite perimeter lighting, trash enclosure, parking spaces, ADA accessible path of travel, onsite landscape, and perimeter fencing.
