Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Cerritos is seeking a qualified contractor to provide the design and construction of the C2 Chlorine Room Modifications. The C2 Well site is located at the City’s Corporate Yard, 16540 Marquardt Avenue. The C2 Well provides groundwater to the main potable water storage reservoirs. The well produces 3,200 to 3,700 gallons per minute and pumped 1.78 billion gallons last year. Groundwater produced by this well requires disinfecting and control of hydrogen sulfide concentrations. Disinfection of hydrogen sulfide is provided by injection of chlorine gas as the groundwater is produced. To facilitate operations and to eliminate the storage and handling of chlorine gas, the City of Cerritos is proposing upgrading the chlorine gas treatment system to a sodium hypochlorite (NaOCL) treatment system.
