The County of Butte is seeking a firm that can best utilize available mixed organics (food & green waste) generated within Butte County. This proposal would directly support countywide efforts to implement Senate Bill (SB) 1383 for the County of Butte Department of Public Works (“Public Works”). Butte County intends to award a contract to or enter into an agreement with a firm (Respondent) that will meet our qualification criteria included in this RFP and has successfully performed services on similar projects in the past. Recognizing the unique nature of this RFP, Respondents will be required to utilize the County contract terms as part of their proposal. An example contract is included in the appendix of this document. It is intended that the winning proposals will be able to handle a minimum of 500 tons of mixed organics a year. 3,000 tons is the current amount of green waste the NRRWF takes in yearly from Unincorporated Butte County. Respondents are encouraged to provide proposals that can exceed the minimum amount and grow capacity based on the needs of the community.
