This project involves the reconstruction of Building 553 Roof, approximately 16,000 sq. ft. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of eight roof drains and seven protrusions (Exhibit A). The Contractor shall remove approximately two feet of the existing roof down to substrate along the edges of the roof. The existing parapet metal coping and reglet flashing shall be cleaned to remove all prior caulking and sealant. The existing parapet metal coping and reglet flashing shall be inspected for any missing or loose screws. The Contractor shall replace any missing or loose screws on the metal coping and reglet flashing. The protrusions shall be cut flush down to substrate. The seven holes shall be covered with a minimum of 12- inch overlap with roofing materials provided by SCLAA. Size 10 screws with neoprene washers shall be used to affix the roofing material to the current decking and shall be spaced apart every six inches. The contractor shall provide and install eight roof drains.
