1. Project Tasks A. Pre-Construction i. Perform a review of project plans and specifications prior to the start of construction. ii. Attend pre-construction meeting with contractor and County. A. Construction i. Provide inspections and testing during the over-excavation process, installation of the stability layer, fill placement operations, aggregate base placement, etc. ii. Provide inspections and testing for reinforcing steel and concrete for the various structural bridge components. Including material identification and testing of reinforcing steel and other steel components as applicable. iii. Test hot mix asphalt material placed for compaction, quality, material temperature, asphalt placement temperature, compaction temperature and compaction efforts. iv. Perform any other inspections and testing as required by the project plans and specifications. v. Collect delivery tickets, samples, etc. vi. Prepare laboratory test reports and daily field reports to be submitted to the County Inspector and Engineer. Daily field reports shall detail activities being performed, subcontractors performing the work, quantities, test locations, results of testing, samples collected, detailing any deficiencies, etc. The inspector’s daily field reports must be provided to the County inspector daily. vii. Inform County Inspector and Engineer of test results. 2. Project Schedule i. Coordinate with the contractor and County staff for inspections. ii. Timely provide inspections and testing services for the project.
