Specifications include, but are not limited to: needed basis. GSA-MVD manages a fleet of vehicles which are gasoline and diesel fuel-powered. The fleet composition consists of foreign and domestic automobiles, both large and small, ranging from hybrid fuel efficient automobiles to police interceptors; vans and pick-up trucks up to one (1) ton in gross vehicle weight. Body repair and paint services contracts for the fleet of vehicles will be awarded to a pool of vendors in or near Alameda County. Upon award of the contract, GSA-MVD will request repair estimates on an as needed basis from the awarded contractors. Contractors will be given an opportunity to provide a quote for each repair required by the County. The repair work will be assigned to the contractor based on the lowest repair estimate provided by the contractor. 1. Contractor shall provide a repair quotation from photos provided by the County within twenty four (24) hours of request. 2. Contractor may be requested to inspect the vehicle at the County facility if needed to provide a complete repair estimate within twenty four (24) hours of request. 3. Contractor shall be responsible for the pick-up and delivery of County vehicles from their current location to the repair shop, and back to the location. Vehicles may be driven to and from repair shop if the vehicles are road worthy. 4. All vehicles shall be repaired to their original conditions as specified by the County. 5. Contractor who provides poor quality service may be dropped from the contract pool. 6. Supplemental estimates, additional cost of repair from hidden damage beyond the original estimate shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Contractors that have an excessive number of supplemental quotes may be dropped from the contract pool. 7. Contractor must notify the County of any delays to the repair of a vehicle. Contractors who have excessive delays may be dropped from the contract pool. 8. Parts shall consist of both foreign and domestic automotive spare parts in conformity with the composition of the County’s fleet of vehicles. 9. Parts shall consist of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts or aftermarket equivalents. Equivalents shall meet or exceed the OEM designed specifications for the particular replacement part application, and shall contain warranties equivalent to or exceeding OEM parts warranty coverage.
