FUNDING OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY SWIFT, “System-Wide Investment in Freight Transport”, is a transformative initiative by the Port of Long Beach, designed to accelerate Port modernization, enhance goods movement efficiency, and reduce environmental impacts on neighboring communities. The SWIFT Zero-Emission Terminal Transformation Incentive Program offers container terminals, non-container terminals, and other tenants at the Port of Long Beach a unique opportunity to access funding to accelerate their transition to zero-emission operations. Funded by a $28.7 million grant from California’s State Transportation Agency, the Program provides financial incentives to support the purchase of eligible zero-emission Cargo Handling Equipment (CHE) and battery-electric CHE charging equipment.
