The CDFW seeks a Lessee who can conduct an agricultural operation on the Premises within YBWA, that will be consistent with the overall goals of flood control and management of habitat for ecological value and public use. Farming on the Premises will be expected to follow the general guidelines described in the Land Management Plan for the YBWA which can be found at (https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Lands/Planning/Yolo- Bypass-WA) or provided upon request. A long-term objective of the CDFW is to use farming activities to encourage and support wildlife habitat on the YBWA. Agriculture provides habitat benefits to wildlife through waste grain, and water distribution on the landscape at times when water availability is limited within the Yolo Basin. Agricultural fields flooded during the winter provide a food source both with waste grain and invertebrates.
