1. Design and deliver a series of professional development training workshops (and materials) for WLC and Dual Language Education teachers of various languages. Final topics and materials must receive prior approval from MMED. PD training must address the following areas: i. WLC instructional shifts in classroom practices ii. Creating learning targets using the CA WLC standards iii. Developing lesson plans using CA WLC standards (i.e., WLC lesson planning) iv. Strategies for proficiency in the 3 modes of communication v. Strategies to enhance language learning vi. Organizing and arranging WLC classrooms to maximize student achievement vii. Instructional strategies for diverse learners viii. Proficiency-based learning activities ix. Educational measurement, assessment and evaluation • Designing and implementing performance-based assessments 2. Provide six (6), two-part training sessions during the school year (total 12 workshops): a. Fall Series (2 sessions/topics) – 4 workshops b. Spring Series (4 sessions/topics) – 8 workshops
