The City of Orinda is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide chipping services for residential properties throughout the city as part of wildfire mitigation efforts. The objective is to safely and efficiently manage and reduce wood debris in compliance with environmental standards and local MOFD ordinances. The Contractor will provide the crew, a truck (including fuel), and a chipper (including grease), and may need to supply a second crew, truck, and chipper during the high season (May – August). Additionally, all other tools or equipment must be supplied by the contractor. These objectives are detailed in the following tables, which outline the key work elements and what should be included in the proposal. Contractor must have current and valid C-27, C-49 or D-49. The City of Orinda manages pickup bookings through a software application. While familiarity with this product is not required, crews must be able to navigate, interpret, and upload data using the city’s provided iPads, as this is how work orders are generated. Basic training and initial software support will be provided. The City of Orinda will pay disposal fees; however, the vendor must provide copies of dump receipts with each monthly invoice. Work hours are primarily 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday.
