Specifications include, but are not limited to: Vocational/Occupational Job Readiness Trainings The vocational/occupational job readiness training services will be procured and paid on a per person basis. This program promotes maximum customer choice under the guidance of a vocational assessment process by enabling customers to select vocational/occupational job readiness training services from approved, eligible providers. Qualified Service Providers will provide vocational/occupational job readiness trainings to help participants obtain in-demand job skills that are marketable to employers from local/regional industries in need of workers. Qualified Service Providers will provide vocational/occupational job readiness trainings tied to a specific occupation or employment sector. Qualified Service Providers must offer a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week of training activities. However, because some welfare-to-work program participants are required to participate in structured activities for thirty-two (32) hours per week, Service Providers who offer training programs that meet this higher threshold of weekly hours are likely to receive a higher number of participant referrals. Structured activity hours include the post training, job search and placement period. Structured activities are expected to be provided Monday through Friday and/or weekends, except on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. HSA does not guarantee any level of referrals to qualified service providers. Actual referrals to qualified service providers will be based on client and HSA service need, and employment viability.
