The purpose of this RFI is to obtain feedback and information from industry experts related to the following: Identifying platforms that are currently available offering internal shopping cart or e-commerce capabilities without the need for the complete financial transaction that is typically the terminating step in an e-commerce or shopping cart solution. Identifying systems or solutions offering off the shelf capabilities including but not limited to the following: Ability to import or bulk-load into a catalogue approximately 6000 inventory items and their associated amounts of on-hand inventory. Ability to interface or receive from Oracle 11.5.10 on a regular basis (frequency TBD) updates regarding inventory amounts, items in the catalogue, and other updates as required. An administrative module allowing the establishment and maintenance of product categories and sub-categories to enable efficient and meaningful searches for Metropolitan employees (end users). An administrative module allowing the maintenance of item information, including the ability to hide/show items and item attributes as necessary, review and edit imported fields, and create custom fields as required. These are required on an individual item basis as well as a global basis. Shopping cart functionality including the ability to browse and select items, attach a favorite attribute to items as desired, bundle items into custom carts for future use, and submit carts as fulfillment requests to Oracle or other systems as next step in the fulfillment process. The expectation is that the responses to this RFI will provide Metropolitan with industry insight, experience, and proven certification levels about current e-commerce or shopping-cart platforms and service providers (vendors) in the industry, as well as best practices related to integration of these platforms or systems with an Oracle ERP (or other internal platforms) as required. SEE RFI DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS. No additional specifications were given.
