1. Valve Removal • Remove 5 existing 16” pump control valves. • Existing valves are a combination of Singer and Bailey valves. • Remove 1 existing size 8 altitude valve. • Existing altitude valve is Bailey. • Properly dispose of all debris off-site in accordance with local regulations. • Valves must be installed as they are removed. • Once one valve is removed, one valve is to be installed to limit the amount of operational impact. • All work must be incompliance with title 22 drinking water standards. • Coordinate all construction activities with the WTP superintendent two weeks in advance. 2. Valve Installation • Install 5 new identical pump control valves. ▪ Other comparable valves may be accepted but Cla-Val 60-BT with high capacity csm 11 h-c is preferred. • Install 1 new replacement altitude valve. Installation must be done the same day as removal and must be coordinated 2 weeks in advance. • Other comparable valves may be accepted but Cla-Val 210-01/610-01 altitude valve for one-way flow is preferred. • Coordinate all construction activities with the WTP superintendent two weeks in advance. • Perform all installations to meet manufacturer requirements and warranty standards. • All hardware must be 316 stainless steel and epoxy painted. • Within 2’ of all connection areas are to be epoxy painted for corrosion protection. • All electrical work is to be performed by contractor. • All work must be in compliance with title 22 drinking water standards. 4. Phasing & Coordination • Provide a detailed phasing schedule for City approval prior to the start of work. • Phase work to minimize disruption to WTP operations. • Work cohesively with any other contractors on-site to ensure smooth progress and avoid conflicts. 5. General Requirements • Maintain a safe, secure, and clean work environment at all times. • Protect existing equipment and piping from damage. • Perform final cleaning of all work areas upon completion. • Ensure compliance with all manufacturer specifications, City requirements and AWWA standards. 6. Spare Parts & Training • 1 rebuild/rubber kit for pump control valves. • 1 rebuild/rubber kit for altitude valve. • Provide 2 full days’ worth of training to plant personnel. One in classroom and one in field.
