The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is the largest Metropolitan Planning Organization is the nation, serving six counties, 191 cities and more than 19 million residents. The agency conducts long-range regional planning for transportation, land-use, air quality and housing. SCAG hosts an annual meeting of its members cities and a conference on various regional issues. SCAG’s annual General Assembly to be held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, California during the first week of May 2026 – May 2029. The program will feature a diverse slate of expert panels, keynote presentations and technical demonstrations designed to equip the region for navigating major changes. Primary audience includes Southern California’s most influential leaders and innovators are expected to attend, including local elected officials, CEOs, business and civic leaders, transportation and environmental stakeholders, local government staff and others.
