Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Vehicle Mounted Elevating and Rotating Aerial Devices Operator training is to improve the skill, knowledge, ability, and competency of the participants to operate the equipment in accordance with regulations, industry standards, and manufacturers’ specifications. This program will be a total of 8 hours to include classroom (4 hours) and practical hands-on (4 hours). Classroom portion (4 hours) shall include, but not be limited, to the following: • Cal/OSHA regulations and policies; ANSIISAIA A92.2 —2015 Standard • Daily inspections and maintenance of the equipment • Crane nomenclature • The purpose and use of manuals • Fall protection and personal protective equipment • Safe operating practices • Workplace inspections • Overview of safety hazards such as: • Working near overhead hazards (electrical, trees, etc.) • Traffic and pedestrian safety • Prevention of tip overs • Working on an incline, drop-offs, curbs, and floor obstructions • Underground utility components • Preparation and securing equipment for transport • Review of load limits of the equipment • Equipment start up and shut down
