The City of Inglewood Police Department (IPD) seeks a contractor to purchase four (4) Auburn canines that will be trained in Vapor Wake® explosive and firearm detection. Due to the purchase of four (4) canines, the City of Inglewood (City) requires that the canines be brought to Inglewood, CA, and be trained here or around the immediate Los Angeles area by the same trainer. At the conclusion of the training, the handlers are to be certified as Vapor Wake® canine handlers with their dog team. IPD currently deploys three (3) Auburn Vapor Wake® canine teams. These teams are strategically utilized during ingress and egress operations at SoFi Stadium, The Forum, and the Intuit Dome to deter and prevent person-borne explosive threats. Their primary role is to conduct walking patterns and checkpoint sweeps during major public events. The expansion to four additional teams is intended to enhance IPD’s counterterrorism and public safety mission.
