Specifications include, but are not limited to: Proposer must describe the Laboratory’s approach, experience and availability for performing habitat characteristics monitoring and sieve net fish species count in an estuary, specifically as described in section VIII.B.1-2 (including Table E-6) in Attachment E of the NPDES Permit (Order No. R4-2020-0024). 9.2 Perform surface water conditions monitoring at up to five (5) receiving water stations in the Santa Clara River Estuary for the following parameters, as described in section VIII.B.1-2 (including Table E-6) in Attachment E of the NPDES Permit (Order No. R4-2020-0024): 9.2.1 Habitat (quarterly): Number of species observed, diversity and refugio quality measure; 9.2.2 Sieve Net Fish Species Count (annually): Number of species, size, and diversity measure. 9.2.3 Additional Qualitative and Quantitative Observations (quarterly with Habitat monitoring and annually with Sieve Net Fish Species Count): At the time of sampling, must conduct additional qualitative and quantitative observations (estimates) of required parameters at all stations and document observations in detail on a field log. . Sediment Monitoring at Receiving Water Stations 11.1 Proposer must describe the Laboratory’s approach, experience and availability for collecting and analyzing sediment samples (upper 5 cm) from an estuary for those parameters listed in Attachment E to the NPDES Permit (Order No. R4-2020-0024), section VIII.C.1.b and Table E-7, including (but may not be limited to) metals, cyanide, chlorinated and non-chlorinated phenolic compounds, total halogenated organic compounds, organochlorine pesticides, total PCBs and PCB derivatives, total PAH and PAH derivatives, dissolved sulfides (pore water), TOC and grain size (sufficiently detailed to calculate percent weight in relation to phi size). 11.2 Perform annual sediment sample collection and analysis at up to five (5) receiving water stations in the Santa Clara River Estuary as described in Attachment E to the NPDES Permit (Order No. R4-2020-0024), section VIII.C.1.b and Table E-7.
