Specifications include, but are not limited to: The User Researcher will conduct the following services for ODI as a Consultant: ● Plan, organize, and conduct user research ● Design and manage research projects and/or activities. ● Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of designers, developers, product managers and vendors on user research, concept envisioning, and iterative testing for various websites and applications. ● Coordinate exploratory research, concept validation and usability testing and run regular field and desk research, using a toolbox of research techniques and methodologies. ● Design research studies, gather data, synthesize it into actionable insights and disseminate findings to various teams through reports and presentations. ● Create research reports, user journey maps, workflows, personas, day-in-the-life scenarios, and use case summaries to help deepen organizational understanding of users. ● Collaborate with others to test design concepts through lean research and usability testing. Test assumptions with real users to improve the quality of the product. ● Develop recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative evidence ● Analyze research data and provide findings that inform the decision-making process. ● Collaborate with colleagues regarding analyses and syntheses to increase internal consensus and challenge project assumptions being developed. ● Work with designers and product managers to translate findings and insights into user stories and actions that allow them to iteratively improve the product for users. ● Facilitate workshops with designers, product managers, engineers and other stakeholders on envisioning exercises grounded in research insights and data. ● Share user research practices and build capacity in others ● Facilitate staff engagement involving user research, including senior leaders and those without much/any experience in the area of user research. ● Coach less-experienced team members in conducting user research effectively and responsibly.
