All security guards assigned to the District must perform the following duties: 1) Monitor alarm panels and computerized equipment that reports critical system parameters. Security guards must respond to alarms by calling the appropriate District On-Call staff member and/or emergency service (fire or police) as appropriate. Security guards will be required to accurately relay the information from the computer control system to the District employee in a calm and effective manner. Security guards must remain alert and ready to communicate at all times during their shift. 2) Respond to and physically check all alarms, secure areas and report as required to the appropriate District personnel. 3) Provide daily written log reports. 4) Stop losses occurring through theft or casualty when feasible to do so without personal danger, and without personally apprehending a wrongdoer. 5) Make written reports detailing any burned-out lights, improperly working doors and locks, building leaks, any apparent functional abnormality of mechanical, electrical or plumbing systems. 6) Notify the responsible authority when a problem requires immediate attention outside of the security guard's ability. 7) Fill out incident and hazard reports when appropriate. 8) Turn out lights when rooms are not in use. 9) Ensure that all entryways and exits are locked and secured after normal business hours. 10) Cooperate fully with, and provide access to, authorized personnel...
