The City is seeking a qualified contractor to provide Utility Locating and Marking Services within City limits for City-owned underground infrastructure. The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and compliant utility markings in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards. This work supports the City’s legal obligation under California Government Code Section 4216 to locate and mark its underground utilities in advance of excavation activities. The services will include both field screenings and physical utility markings as appropriate. The volume of utility locate requests varies depending on regional construction activity and excavation demands. Over the past year, the City responded to approximately: 2,045 locate requests for water utilities 380 for sewer 110 for storm drain 60 for City-owned fiber optic infrastructure 350 for traffic signal and street lighting systems
