The proposed scope of work includes the installation of 21 new fume hoods; new flooring, wall finishes, research lab benches, chemical storage units, solvent purification systems, lab casework, furniture, and equipment; modifications to the building’s mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems to support the program, including new mechanical fan coil units, ductwork, and modifications to the lighting and controls, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm systems. Required building upgrades related to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility includes alterations to corridor restrooms and drinking fountains along the path of travel associated with the project area. The new fume hoods would be procured separately by the University.
