As a part of a campus expansion project, the District is required by the California Building Code to include new solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system to the Project Site. The District has obtained the services of an architect to design and implement the campus expansion and is in need of a qualified solar and battery installer to coordinate with the architect and complete the installation of solar with a battery energy storage systems. There is existing solar at the Project Site that is currently interconnection under the Net Energy Metering (NEM) tariff. The additional solar and battery energy storage system must be installed in such a way that does not void the existing NEM interconnection eligibility of the existing solar installation. There are utility-approved configurations that can be used to accommodate addition of new solar and battery energy storage systems without voiding the NEM tariff for an existing solar installation. Respondents are required to confirm the proposed electrical configuration as shown in the RFP Documents meet the utility-approved methodology to ensure the new solar and battery energy storage systems are installed under the Net Billing Tariff (NBT), while the existing solar installation remains under NEM tariff.
