1. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to abandon existing 8-inch, 12-inch, and 18-inch ductile-iron pipe in place by means of pressure grouting and remove and dispose of pipe and associated appurtenances as required. 2. Removal of existing valve collars and cans, abandonment of existing valves in place, and proper disposal of fire hydrants. 3. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to all tie-in connections completed by CVWD forces at several locations to existing water mains. 4. Furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform and install street pavement and surface restoration as shown on the Drawings. 5. Apply and Obtain Encroachment Permit from the City of Indio, including the preparation and implementation of Traffic Control Plans to be approved. 6. Prior to commencing work, Contractor shall notify Underground Service Alert (U.S.A., 811) of the proposed excavation. Contractor shall provide video documentation to CVWD of all existing condition, after marking utilities, for all the pre- and post-construction activities. 7. Work shall also include protecting in place or removing and replacing all existing utilities and public and private improvements in all project areas damaged during construction, including, but not limited to, curbs, gutters, concrete pavement, asphalt concrete pavement, walkways, sidewalks, cross gutters, spandrels, medians, driveways, slopes, mailboxes, landscaping, irrigation facilities, traffic striping, signs, fences and walls. 8. Contractor shall limit the amount of disturbance to the existing landscaping/hardscaping around the existing public and private facilities during installation of new services and construction of appurtenances from the water main. Contractor shall minimize disturbance to sidewalks or mailboxes during installation of new service laterals and appurtenances from the newly installed water line to the existing meter or back of curb. 9. Contractor will be required to utilize the services of a professionally licensed landscape contractor to repair landscaping in and around areas of disturbance to existing landscape.
