The Riverside County Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), hereafter referred to as the County, is seeking proposals from interested, qualified, and experienced bidders to provide transportation services for the following target populations: • Elderly/dependent adults • Caregivers The clients of Adult Services Division (ASD) encompass elderly/dependent adults, as well as their caregivers. These clients require transportation to medical appointments, visitation, shopping, and other DPSS approved activities and client services in the Riverside County desert region. Bidder shall have the capability to accommodate limited mobility clients (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.). The estimated trips are 30 per month, however this is an estimate and can change based on need. Adult Services mission is to promote safety, well-being, and independence for elderly/dependent adults, through accurate and timely assessments and linkage to services. Access to reliable transportation is particularly important for older adults who do not have easy access to reliable public transportation and face an almost doubled risk of depression due to the lack of independence and increased risk of social isolation.
