The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, tools and supervision to perform tree maintenance as described herein including, but not limited to, the following: (a) Visually inspect each tree prior to climbing or pruning (b) Notify City staff of any imminent hazards or extreme risk tree situations that cannot be mitigated by pruning (c) Pruning street trees in accordance with ANSI A300 Tree Management Standards - Part 1 Pruning, ISA Best Management Practices, and all specifications in the “Pruning Specifications” section of this document (d) Site clean-up and removal of all debris produced during pruning/removal operations. (e) Sycamore trees listed for pruning include 694 trees throughout San Mateo neighborhoods. The following specifications shall be completed: Prune to reduce canopy 7-10ft in order to reduce end-weight. Pruning will occur in the outer 25% of the canopy. Pruning of live branches should be between a diameter of two and four inches. No more than one quarter of the canopy shall be removed. Clean dead branches one inch in diameter and greater. Mitigate hazards not visible from the ground. Raise low limbs to 10 ft over sidewalks and 15ft over the road. Clear surrounding structures by 3-5 ft.
