Visual and Mechanical Inspection: Inspect for physical, electrical, and mechanical condition. Compare equipment nameplate information with latest one-line diagram and report discrepancies. Inspect for proper anchorage, required area of clearances, physical damage and proper alignment. Inspect all doors, panels and sections for paint, dents, and scratches, fit and missing hardware. Verify the fuse and/or circuit breaker sizes and types correspond to drawings. Verify current and potential transformer ratios correspond to drawings. Inspect all bus connections for high resistance using a low resistance ohmmeter. Inspect and test all mechanical interlock systems for proper operation and sequencing: Closure attempt shall be made on locked open devices. Opening attempt shall be made on locked closed devices. Key exchange shall be made with devices operated in off-normal positions. Inspect insulators for evidence of physical damage or contaminated surfaces. Verify proper barrier and shutter installation and operation.
