Transit Security Officer services include but are not limited to: • Providing excellent customer service • Providing information to customers and the general public concerning AUTHORITY generally and OCSC specifically • Providing foot patrols of trains and platforms • Observing, assessing, and reporting on activities • Monitoring the facility video management system (VMS) for non-approved activity on platforms • Monitoring and responding to security-related radio and telephone calls and text messages • Providing literature to customers and the general public concerning services available to persons experiencing homelessness, the emotionally disturbed, and mentally ill • Assisting in resolving conflicts and de-escalating confrontations • Affecting citizens’ arrests on their own and AUTHORITY’s behalf, whenever lawful and unavoidable • Using the minimum and appropriate force necessary and lawful to affect lawful citizens’ arrests • Assisting public safety personnel within the limits of the law, company policy, this Scope of Work, and Post Orders • Filing reports, logs and other documents in an accurate and timely manner
