Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Determine which legislation is relevant to the District and recommend preliminary positions. • Monitor legislation relevant to the District in accordance with its board-adopted Legislative Program and notify the District of bills or amendments to bills — summarizing them for easy readability — that are likely to affect District operations and interests. • Assist in development and implementation of strategies for advancing actions that are beneficial to the District and its programs. • In consultation with District, initiate appropriate advocacy actions to advance District’s position regarding state legislation and regulation. • Provide expert advice, including subcontracting for such expertise with District approval, to District regarding the formulation of District-sponsored legislation.
