1.1 The City of San José (“City”) is seeking to purchase books for the San Jose Public Library (“Library”) which consists of a Main Library and 24 branches serving a diverse population of approximately one million people. The Library maintains popular and educational Spanish language materials in print, DVD, CD, and audiobook formats in all locations. The Library’s online automation system is Sierra by Innovative Interfaces, Inc. 1.2 Approximately 70% of the printed book purchases will be for children’s and young adult materials and 30% of the printed book purchases will be for adult materials. 1.3 Materials may be ordered in various quantities including with multiple copies. Selection decisions will be made throughout the year on an as-needed basis by City. 1.4 Availability of pre-processing and cataloging for most items is preferred.
