The National Park Service (Service) is soliciting for applications to provide stock and non-stock related Commercial Use Authorizations (CUA) within wilderness throughout Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The CUA application package is available on the national Commercial Use Authorizations website, link provided below. Non-stock services are included under the "hiking - backcountry" service type and includes day hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, ski mountaineering, Nordic day-use activities, fishing instruction, photography instruction, and portering services. Stock services are included under the "horseback/mule/other livestock rides or services - overnight" service type and includes all pack and saddle stock guided services (day and overnight trips).
The Service will authorize a limited number of CUAs for a two-year period, beginning January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027.
The solicitation opens August 1, 2025 and the CUA application package is available on the national Commercial Use Authorizations (below). Complete applications for a CUA to operate in wilderness within Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on September 30, 2025.
