The selected contractor(s) may be asked to provide the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program with professional assistance in any or all of the following areas: Task 1: Provide on-call community outreach and education pertaining to various site-specific, regulatory, and programmatic advancement of the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program such as: a. Provide vendors with updated rules and regulations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. b. Identify strategies on innovative implementation of the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program c. Inform potential vendors of the permit fees decreasing from $291 to $27.51. This adjustment will positively affect vendors and foster continued collaboration within the vending community. d. Participate in community events to educate groups or individuals on the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending permit process and requirements. Note: Selected contractor(s) may be required to coordinate with BusinessSource Centers, Office of Finance, Recreation and Parks departments and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for events and other activities. e. Direct outreach, such as distribution of written materials in public places and one-onone counseling to inform individuals about the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending rules and regulations, as well as through short articles, brochures, flyers, television, and radio broadcasts. Such outreach should include rules and regulations for vending on the public right of way and in parks; public health and/or welfare concerns; and permit process and requirements. Note: Selected contractor(s) would provide these services as well as serve as direct liaison between the vending community and City officials. Task 2: Develop promotional materials for the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program such as: a. Provide assistance in publicizing the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program and the services available to vendors to assist them in obtaining vending permits. b. Develop and distribute multi-lingual and culturally competent educational outreach materials on the City’s Sidewalk and Park Vending Program rules and regulations, the requirements necessary in obtaining a vending permit, and the resources available in assisting the public to obtain such permits through short articles, brochures, flyers, television, and radio broadcasts. Outreach and educational material should be prepared in as many languages as necessary in areas impacted by sidewalk and park vending subject to resources available for this project. Note: Outreach and educational material must be provided to the City in the English language and approved by the City before being translated to additional languages for distribution.
